Saturday Soccer

Tough day on the soccer pitch today. It was hot and muggy and we were significantly outnumbered. We had to start a man down and even when people finally showed up we had only one sub.

We fought valiantly though and tied it at 1-1. We gave up a sloppy goal late in the second, however, and lost 2-1. I had a shot at the equalizer but the defender took me down and the ref let it go. I was very frustrated because I had missed some close ones on the previous games and I really wanted to make one from short range. I think the ref just didn’t have the guts to call a penalty in the box. Oh well, sometimes things just don’t go your way.
