Speaking of sports, I can’t wait for football season to start! The offseason is always to long. For those of you who can’t wait here are some football stories:
- It looks like Carson Palmer is headed to the Bengals. I hope somebody down there has a plan for this guy. I would hate to see them waste his talent. You can’t just throw a rookie QB to the wolves of NFL defenses and expect them to succede unless you have an offensive plan and the talent to execute it.
- It looks like the Green Bay Packers are going to give former Nebraska standout Eric Crouch a chance at QB. This seems like a mistake to me. I say make him a receiver/run threat. I suppose if Couch refuses to play anything but QB that is not an option (sorry about the lame pun).
- In an amazing turnaround, it appears Willis McGahee just might go in the first round. Whoulda thunk it after that vicious hit in the National Championship game? I must say I would be tempted to grab him if I was a GM. I mean if his knee looks healthy, give him a full year to recover and he could be a force. A high level running back like that ain’t no small potatoes - that could mean the difference between the playoffs and staying home.

Did I mention I can’t wait for football to start?

The Bungles do have some talent, just not an effective leader. Palmer may do what Carr did for the Texans: take his lumps for a year and learn, make it his team and lead them as best he can.

Would someone like to see a healthy McGahee wearing the black and gold of a certain Pittsburgh team? I think the “Bus” is about ready for the garage.

It’s only about 4 months until the season starts, only 4 … aarrgh! These off-seasons seem to be getting longer and longer.
