Selling Books on The Corner
I am a fan of National Review Online (heck I have even written for them). I subscribe to NRODT and NR Digital. I enjoy The Corner as a place to keep up with current events and to see what NR writers think about said events. In the past I really haven’t minded their constant pushing of various servious (like NR Digital) because if that is what it takes to keep it going I understand. Recently, however, I have gotten a bit tired of the constant urging to buy this or sign up for that. Ms. Lopez has gone off the deep end with Rich Lowry’s new book. Practically every other post she makes is none-too-subtle admonition to buy the book. One post last night had 11 links to buy the book!
I wouldn’t mind it if once or twice a day she mentioned it but all day every few minutes is a bit much. I certainly don’t mind Rich discussing it and linking to it as part of that discussion either but just “Buy the Book” over and over again gets old real quick. Just needed to get that off my chest.

Given your comments, I don’t suppose I could persuade you to mention the Spence Publishing $5 on your blog. Many thanks for your purchase, by the way.
