One Response to “What I am listening to”

My quest, Kevin, seems to be to locate the real Mozart. His music is obfuscated today by the many geniuses intent on updating. (I’m referring to the period instrument deadend.) Most of the interpretations they produce are marginally Mozartean.

    He’s so difficult to perform.

He’s not shallow. And his updaters are.

I do like the work of Sir Charles Mackerras, except that it is too fast. But Mackerras does understand the flowing structure of the symphonies and the excitement.
