Literary reviews and commentary on deck
In case anyone is worried that this has become a blog about anything but literature, never fear. I will be reviewing some fiction very soon, so don't you worry. To try and encourage you to keep clicking back, here are some of the books we will be discussing in the days ahead:
- Dream Angus: The Celtic God of Dreams by Alexander McCall Smith. Another in the Cannongate Myth Series and a good one.
- The Most Difficult Journey You'll Ever Make: The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. This is one volume in a series of "updated classics" for Paraclete Press. The Pilgrim’s Progress is arguably the most-read book in the English language after the Bible.
- The Two-Pound Tram by William Newton. I found this slim volume in the Friends of the Library story for a dollar! The Dallas Morning News had this to say about it: "This evocative, bittersweet story of childhood is a gem for the literary treasure chest.”
So be sure to come back on check things out. I will get over my post Thanksgiving slump and into a rhythm just in time for a Christmas and New Years malaise . . .
