Well folks, my little blog vacation is over. To be honest I am not sure it accomplished anything. It was just part of the ongoing struggle I have with trying to figure out exactly what blogging means in my life and what I should do with it.

I am not really a “warblogger” - whatever that means - and I am not really an online journal type either. My dreams of online journalism are mostly just that - dreams. I guess I periodicaly question the whole endeavor but I get pulled back in very easily. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it . . .

The easy way to get hits and to make a splash is simply to surf the blogosphere and the major media and attack posts you disagree with or dislike. You flood the world with posts about the latest hot button issue like millions of other blogs. This gets old for me. Most days I don’t want to talk about the same news that everyone else is talking about. I mean, let’s be honest there is really nothing I can add to the sniper story.

Creating new content is hard work though and I rarely have the time or energy. I also feel wierd about sending out mass emails to try and insure that if I do write something serious people will read it. As I have said many times before, it is odd just how involved one’s emotions and ego can get in blogging.

Anyway, I still think blogging is fun so I am just going to keep doing it. I will wrestle with my own demons as I go along (sometimes they will probably spill out here other times they will be behind the scenes). What I post here will simply be a reflection of my thoghts and ideas; notes on my interests, hopes, and life. In the end that is really all I can offer.

I hope you find the whole thing amusing enough to keep coming back.

Who cares about numbers of readers? We write, we comment, we keep our mind sharper through mental exercise. Besides, some of the nicest people I (electronically) know are bloggers, even if they are occasionally misguided. That’s why we are here - seeking truth, justice and the web way (and maybe even sharing our faith sometimes too)!
