Harry Potter Wins First Blog Book Club Vote

harrypotter5.jpg I can’t say that I was overwhelmed by the reaction to my Blog Book Club. In fact, there were only six votes cast to choose the first book.

I feel honor bound, however, to carry on and make those votes count. The winner was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by a vote of 4-2. In an effort to speed things up, however, I am not going to spend a great deal of time on HP (I want to tackle the book that came in second). A great many people have already read it so we can jump to discussion and debate rather quickly. If you have any comments or questions or links use the comments or trackback to let us know about them.

A good place to start might be Slate’s Book Club discussion on HP. You can also check out Blogcritics as they have some reviews posted (here is one). I will try to add stuff as I come across it, and of course I will post my review soon.

  • The BBC is a cool idea. I’d didn’t participate because I had no interest in the books on the list AND I already have my next several reads planned out. I’m sure that if you ever have something I want to read and I have space in my reading schedule that I’ll join in. I DO understand the frustration of putting effort into something that few seem to have any interest in, though. Very frustrating and disappointing.

  • I’d jump in but I tried reading the first HP book a few years back and couldn’t finish it. I got bored.

Future of Freedom is good, but it’s strange.
