Pirates of the Caribbean
I saw Pirates of the Caribbean tonight with some friends. The consensus was that it was a funny and entertaining summer movie. If you are looking for old fashioned family fun this would be a good pick. It has humor, action, and romance with a minimum of violence and no strong language.
Of course if you are looking for intense acting, non-stop action, or deep discussion of difficult issues, this is definitely not for you. Johnny Depp plays a good, if a bit odd, Captain Jack Sparrow. Orlando Bloom plays his part well too and Keira Knightly is sure easy on the eyes. It is a tad slow in parts and a little cheesy in the end, but the overly all effect is fun and, as I said, entertaining. Since that is mostly what I go to movies for, I was happy when I left the theatre.

I agree with your review. Seems just about everyone else who has seen the film had the same reaction.

For those of us on the distaff side, Orlando Bloom is pretty easy on the eyes, too.
