We may be springing ahead tonight but we are far from Spring in the weather department:
I have finally surfaced to offer some explanations as to the silence of this site. One obvious problem is that the older Ella gets the less time one has to sit at a computer and upload photos and type explanations. Another problem is that the site I had planed on using as an alternative to this one had some technical difficulties. In the end, a bunch of things conspired to keep me from updating this site.
Well, I now have a solution. I have started using a new site. This one is web based and is called Flickr. So now you can see updates of the whole Holtsberry clan (but mostly Ella) at the new site.
So from now on click on over to the Flickr site to look for new picture of the cutest girl in the world.
Ella is one year old! I can hardly believe it. I need to get caught up as once again I have fallen behind in my posting here. Here are some pictures to bring you up-to-date. Next I will post some pictures from Ella's birthday party.
Ella loves to be read to. Here she is enjoying a story on mama's lap:
Like her dad, Ella likes to take a nap on the couch. Unlike her dad, she is very cute when she does it:
I have not been keeping up this web page very well have I. In my defense, I had a computer melt down and a problem with the web page that hosts the photos for this page. So that caused a lot of delays. To make it up to you here are a few pictures to hold you over until Ella's birthday (which is less than two weeks away!).
After our time in Minnesota, we spent a quiet Christmas at home. Ella enjoyed unwrapping the presents. Look at the mess:
Lisa bought Ella a nice sweater that will be perfect for the next time we head up to Minnesota:
Those who know me well know that I enjoy a football game now and then (four or five on the weekend tops). Well, it is only natural that Ella would share this interest. Below are some pictures documenting her development as a sports fan.
Let's start with the NFL. Ella and I watched the Steelers rough up the Bengals this past weekend. Here is Ella enjoying her new Steelers' onesie:
On the first drive of the game it looked like the Bengals had scored a touchdown, but the play was being reviewed. Here is Ella rightly concerned about the play:
Luckily, the play was overturned and the Steelers went on to win handily.
As the weather gets colder it is important to have the proper attire. So we made sure to outfit Ella with the proper college football outer wear. She is a little sad about Michigan's season so far. But she will be smiling come November 19!
In preparation, we are practicing our "game face" in this one:
Just remember Go Steelers! And Go M Blue!
I have once again fallen behind in posting picture to this site. Here are some pictures to catch up:
Here is Ella in a cool beret
Friends of ours loaned us their jogger stroller and we had fun using it during the summer. We would roller blade while pushing Ella. Here is Ella asleep after a trip around the neighborhood. Note the cool sunglasses.
Lisa and Ella went to a Apple Orchard with a play group. The weather was beautiful and they had a great time.
I will post more pictures today after football!
Sorry about the lack of updates around here. We have been busy. Ella is as cute as ever and getting more mobile by the second it seems.
With it being so hot this summer we haven't spent a lot of time outside, but we do occasionally get out in the back yard to relax. Here is a shot of Ella and I enjoying the nice weather:
Ella's dad has been known to enjoy spending some time on the couch. Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Of course Ella looks better doing it . . .
I will save the biggest news for last. Ella is now standing by herself! It has been a little difficult getting a picture of this, however, as she tends to sit down by the time we get the camera, etc. But I managed to snap this proof (if you look closely you will see she isn't hanging on to anything.
I have once again been castigated for not providing updates more regularly. Sorry. I will try to do better. Here are a few shots to tide you over.
Kids grow up so fast these days! Here is Ella drinking her first cup of coffee with her Grandpa:
Okay, it's not really coffee. She just loves putting her mouth on cups and glasses.
OK. Some people are apparently impatient for more pictures. So I took the time to upload some of the many digital pictures we have been taking. Below are some highlights. Enjoy.
Lisa's birthday was May 20. Some friends from church had a party for Lisa and another friend who shares her birthday. It was fun but a bit too much for Ella. We had to cut the evening short (welcome to parenting I guess). But when we got home she had a grand time opening presents with her mother:
I think we all know who is the cutest girl in the whole world:
